What You Need to Know BEFORE Applying 

Public Housing Applications will be taken at Jefferson County Housing Authority (Bessemer Office) at 4501 Little Drive, Bessemer, AL 35068.

Application Opens: March 17, 2025, at 7:00 AM
Application Close: March 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM

Applications can be picked up at the Bessemer Office on Monday, March 17th - Thursday, March 20th, between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm you may print off an application via our website's APPLY NOW page, or one can be emailed to you.

• Terrance Manor I (2 & 3 Bedroom only)
• Terrace Manor II (2 & 3 Bedroom only)
• Oak Ridge in Brighton (2 & 3 Bedroom only)

You can drop off your application at the Bessemer Office with the requested documents or email your application and documents to rgamble@jcha.com.

Only 100 applications will be accepted.

Must be 18 years of age to apply.

Applications should have the proper Identification, which includes:

• State Driver's License, State ID or Military ID
• Verification of current income (SS, SSI, Tanf, etc.) and/or proof of employment (two consecutive paystubs)

Applicants already on the waiting lists for other housing programs must apply separately for this program and such applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists when they apply for public housing.

Directions to Bessemer Office:
Take I-20/59 to exit 110 (Alabama Adventure Parkway). Turn onto the Parkway going toward Watermark Outlet, get in the left lane. Then go to Prince Street (you will see a sign for Designer outlets), turn left. Go to the top of the hill to the "STOP" sign and turn right onto Little Drive. Go one block, then turn right into the parking lot of the office.
